As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we believe in each person's potential, and we'll help you reach yours.Job SummaryThe photography intern will work to build a catalog of photos of students, faculty, and staff at IU using and engaging with technology. This catalog will be used by the IT Communications Office (ITCO) and shared with IU Studios and others across IU for use in IT-related communications and marketing campaigns. The intern will also inventory and catalog the new and existing images within Microsoft SharePoint to make them easy for the design team to search and use. The intern will benefit from working alongside an experienced team of photographers, designers, and marketing/communications professionals who can mentor them on photography and teach them how to work effectively within a professional marketing and communications team. They will be working to communicate and market for the IT industry, an area with continually growing professional opportunities. Description of duties:

  • Gather photo requirements from the ITCO design team, plan and execute photo shoots to capture the desired types of images at locations across the IU Bloomington campus.
  • When necessary, collect and submit photo release forms.
  • Edit and do post-production on photos.
  • Inventory and catalog new and existing photo images within ITCO SharePoint file storage.
  • Attend and participate in ITCO team meetings, when appropriate. QualificationsEDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCERequired
    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Experience and/or coursework in photography and photo editing.Preferred
      • Media School major/minors.SKILLS
        • Creative vision to imagine and execute interesting photos in many different styles.
        • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment and ability to accept direction and take feedback gracefully.
