Position Overview
This role is a for a SME in the making and is key to our team's function! The person in this role will put his/her polished copywriting and editing skills to work daily to ensure our messaging is on point and on brand. Learning the ins and outs of the Hoosier Hills product and service offering and becoming familiar with our vendor relationships will be key, as will the ability to authentically engage members and staff with a heart for service, in a manner consistent with our brand and mission.
Personal initiative, an eye for detail and a penchant for organization are imperative, as there will always be multiple projects to juggle, campaigns to craft and execute, and relationships to manage. Our team is great: humble, diverse, fun, open to new ideas, flexible and hard working. As the entry role in our marketing department, the Marketing Specialist will be exposed to a variety of projects with opportunities to learn as he/she progresses towards the next step in his/her career. We believe in growth - in fact, this role is vacant because the person previously in it was promoted to another position within the marketing department!
Key Responsibilities

Write and edit content for Hoosier Hills literature, website, radio/TV/newspaper ads, direct mail, and email campaigns, working with the proper teams to ensure compliance



Develop and distribute product/service announcements, promotions, and member communications; assisting outside vendors in the production and distribution of marketing materials as needed



Review/edit internal and external correspondence for marketing and other departments



Develop and maintain relationships with marketing vendors; understand and maintain contracts



Maintain/update internal product manual; prepare talking points for staff on new products and services



Respond to member questions received via email and social media



Provide consistent, exceptional, timely service to internal and external members



Post marketing messages and graphics on our external service center signage and manage content for the in-branch video system



Assist with the expansion of digital marketing channels including social media, retargeting, search and display advertising and SEO targeting our members and potential members



Assist with arrangements for public events and the recruitment of internal volunteers as needed



Engage with members at community events; be available to assist with set-up and tear-down, and possibly staff various events which may periodically require time outside of regular business hours



Assist with coordination of contests, prizes, awards, and giveaways



Submit marketing invoices to accounts payable for payment



Complete training as assigned by training or compliance staff; comply with all applicable BSA/AML laws, rules, regulations, policies, and business practices established by management

PM19Requirements

Associate degree in marketing, journalism, or business-related field; Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered



Excellent writing and editing skills, a thorough understanding of grammar and sentence structure, and the ability to construct messages appropriate for a variety of target audiences: internal staff, executive team, external members, potential members



Well-developed verbal communication skills and a strong willingness and ability to collaborate and take initiative



Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat



Strong organizational and time management skills, eager and self-motivated


Work Environment/Physical Demands


Typical climate-controlled administrative setting with appropriate lighting
