Responsibilities Job Summary The Vice President eCommerce Technology is accountable for all technical aspects of the EXPRESS ecommerce business. Primary responsibilities:

  • Strategic and tactical planning, evaluation, development, and implementation of the EXPRESS digital commerce platform
  • Ensuring that future ecommerce technology investments are aligned with broader EXPRESS strategic objectives, as well as the overarching technology strategy, long-range plan and Enterprise Architecture standards
  • Own the definition and alignment of eCommerce delivery model that supports broader eCommerce growth objectives including potential shifts in funding models
  • Defining, budgeting and staffing the appropriate organization to achieve strategic and tactical objectives of the role
  • Refining Product Management, Project Management and Scrum Master roles in the eCommerce Technology organization to sustain accelerated delivery of new capabilities balanced against ongoing operational needs
  • Ensuring appropriate testing, performance engineering, de-risked implementation and ongoing operational considerations are fully contemplated and incorporated into the eCommerce technology portfolio
  • Negotiating, maintaining and optimizing strategic partnerships that ensure contract requirements are met As a member of the Senior Technology Leadership Team, this person will actively participate in:
    • Developing and implementing plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, process and personnel required to accommodate strategic and tactical objectives of the organization
    • Preparing and approving the annual budget and a multi-year strategic business plan, which includes financial growth
    • Collaborating with the leadership team to align short and long-range objectives to organizational goals; create, own and manage the budgets and objectives for the eCommerce Technology teams Essential Functions % of Time Spent Essential Functions 50 eCommerce -- Desktop, Mobile Web, Tablet, API, In-Store eCommerce Mobile -- Native iOS, Native Android, Hybrid Apps Customer Experience Platform -- Content - Web, Mobile, Display, Email. -- UI Architecture - Web, Mobile. -- Digital Asset Management 25 eCommerce Delivery -- Agile delivery for eCommerce -- Integrating eCommerce delivery with broader enterprise projects/team -- Product management -- Project Management -- Scrum Master 15 Talent Management -- Associate Growth -- Career planning; Matching associate with company goals -- Training, Talent Reviews -- On boarding and Mentoring 5 Performance Engineering -- Enterprise Application Monitoring Strategy & Implementation -- Release Management -- DevOps / Software Reliability Engineering -- High Availability, Disaster Recovery and Failsafe Engineering Solutions -- Edge Cache (Akamai) 5 Digital Operations -- Commerce, User Experience, Analytics & SEO, Mobile -- Cloud, Cyber Security & Fraud Protection 100% Other essential functions may occur as directed by your supervisor Job Qualifications Essential Qualifications
      • Education: Bachelor's Degree
      • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field
      • Years of Experience: 15+
      • Percentage of Travel: 5 - 15%
      • Type of Travel: Overnight
      • 15+ years' experience building and managing development of teams (50-75 associates) that design and deliver large, high availability systems
      • 8+ years' experience leading multiple groups across eCommerce, mobile through enterprise integration across customer touch points.
      • Excellent communication skills and ability to speak and write clearly and accurately, particularly as it relates to technical concepts
      • Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams and business partners
      • Experience leading the development of technology products throughout the full product lifecycle
      • Proven track record of building high-performance teams
      • Leading organizational development exercises focused on an agile delivery model and significant scale
      • Strong decision-making and prioritization skills
      • Strong leadership skills and ability to influence
      • Demonstrates exceptional relationship building skills with strong ability to influence others
      • Proven history of working closely with business partners to successfully drive overall company objectives
      • Demonstrates proven leadership of large end-user projects and programs
      • Passionate about quality, performance, reliability, and scalability
      • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
      • Motivated, dynamic, strategic and results-oriented
      • Strong organization and project management skills
      • Experience facilitating incident management and system recovery efforts
      • Exceptional critical thinking skills; ability to decompose complex problems, prioritize issues, and implement sensible solutions
      • Ability to go high and low - make high level strategic proposals and also do individual work and in-depth analysis
      • Strong experience in an open source technology environment Preferred Qualifications ( skills and abilities)
        • Advanced Degree
        • 15+ years' experience in software engineering or related field
          • The ideal candidate will have strong experience collaborating with C-Level, SVP, EVP, VP and Director level associates
            • Specialty apparel retail experience
