Job Description:

New Hope for Families is seeking a highly-qualified Assistant Director to help lead its early care and education program, The Nest at New Hope. Candidates must be passionate about providing excellent care and education to young children from diverse backgrounds, including those impacted by homelessness and poverty, in a mixed-income cohort.

The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting in the management of all day-to-day operations of a licensed child care center according to developmentally appropriate practice, Paths to Quality requirements, Child and Adult Care Food Program regulations, Indiana state licensing requirements, and NAEYC guidelines.

*Assistant Director Job Description*

* Manage CACFP program paperwork, including family enrollment forms, point of service attendance forms, and submit monthly claims.
* Manage Enrollment paperwork and forms. Work with families to ensure all paperwork is correct and up-to-date.
* Manage Staff Files and ensure all staff are keeping up to date with all requirements and forms.
* Work part-time as a Nest teacher as necessary.
* Attend regular leadership team meetings as necessary.
* Work collaboratively with The Shelter team.
* Work in collaboration with Hope Builders and others to ensure maintenance of properties and equipment.
* Maintain relationships with other early education and family support agencies.
* Assist in the management of enrollment including selecting families for enrollment in collaboration with Shelter team (including maintaining a wait list as necessary), conducting tours and interviews, supporting ongoing enrollment and facilitating attendance, maintaining steady enrollment.
* Assist in the management of the Nest team: participate in hiring new employees; monitor job performance; assist in orientation of new staff; plan for ongoing professional development for the team.
* Complete necessary documentation required for grant holders and assist in fund development work as assigned.
* Maintain a commitment to ongoing professional development and stay abreast of developments in our field.

This position reports to the Nest Director, and involves collaboration with the Executive Director, the Shelter Director, the Family Services Coordinator, and the Nest Teaching Team.

All candidates must be willing to undergo a criminal background check, drug screening, annual CPR/First Aid certification, and TB screening.

Time Commitment

This is a full-time salaried position. Our operating hours are from 7:30am-5:30pm Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

A successful candidate will possess a CDA, AA, BA or above in early childhood education or related field. The ideal candidate will also have experience and training in a classroom setting and with young children who have experienced trauma or other early development risk factors.

Compensation

Salary is $40,000-$45,000, according to education and experience.
