Job Description:
Oversee the core banking systems of the Credit Union. Lead and
supervise a team responsible for the design, development,
architecture, integration, support, and implementation of core
banking applications, databases, and systems. Accomplishes long and
short-term projects in the modification of systems, software, and
hardware. Develops and provides guidance for solutions related new
products, automation, interactivity, streamlining operations, and
employee experience with core systems. Core systems include but are
not limited to core banking systems and processing technologies
such as ATMs, ITMs, cash recyclers, card operations, etc. This role
serves as the organizations primary subject matter expert on its
core banking solutions
The VP, Core Systems role is a hybrid role, that allows for some
remote as well as in-office and on-site flexibility . This position
is located at the Bedford Annex.
This role offers a comprehensive benefits package and salary
commensurate with your experience within a range of $74,209 -
$111,314.
What You'll Do:
Manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of core
banking data processing systems and procedures, databases, network
administration, applications programming, and user support. Ensure
proper system integrations for data sharing, workflow management,
and architectural fit within the IT ecosystem. Maintain updated
information systems manuals and documentation.
Ensure system stability and scalability with near zero impact on
day-to-day business operations due to IT system issues. Manages
core production environment incidents to resolution using best
practices, ensuring timely engagement, escalation, and effective
communication to the business, technology, and vendor partners.
Ensure optimum system performance and efficient computer
utilization. Conduct system studies to evaluate electronic data
processing needs. Recommend the procurement of additional computer
equipment, applications, and tools.
Analyze system requirements and user needs, establish policies and
procedures for modifying information systems, including adoption
and promotion of Change Management procedures. Serve as a core
member of teams responsible for the implementation of new systems
and major releases/service packs and the development and
implementation of major new processes and workflows.
Establishes proper system and end user acceptance testing and
testing documentation of systems or functionality. Oversee
successful transition of new systems and functionality from
development to operational support. Manages inventory, system
lifecycles, patch management, and software updates for all core
systems. Act as an information resource for users regarding systems
functions, procedures, processes, and workflows.
Coordinates resource availability and scheduling to ensure proper
coverage. Determines and assists with IT Processing Schedules on
rotational basis including daily, weekly, monthly, month end, and
Year End. Perform hands-on technical tasks as necessary to augment
existing staff in critical areas during peak activity period and/or
major project activities.
Collaborate with Senior Technology Staff to implement new solutions
or troubleshoot/resolve issues with desktop systems and software
applications. Organize, manage, and participate in technology and
operational projects. Key contributor to technical aspects of
annual planning and budgeting process.
Collaborate with the Project Management Office and use appropriate
methodologies, tools, and best practices.
Builds strong security posture for infrastructure hosted both
on-premises and with third party software providers.
Manages relationships with critical third-party services and
vendors ensuring needs of the organization are met effectively.
Ensure the availability of technology systems and owns the disaster
recovery strategy, architecture, and ensures highly available and
redundant infrastructure.
Identifies opportunities for automation.
Develop each employee to their highest potential by identifying
their areas for improvement and appropriately coaching, training
or, correcting the employees' performance. Hold employees
accountable for their performance, attitude, and behavior.

Ideal Candidates Have:
Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills necessary for
supervising staff and communicating with top management and serving
as a representative of the Credit Union.
Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Science or related field. A minimum
of five years of experience managing employees and performance
expectations.
A minimum of ten years of experience in the operation,
administration, management and continuous improvement of computer
systems, hardware, software, and helpdesk operations required.
Experience working in a financial institution preferred.
Work requires extensive knowledge of computer systems and software,
including Fiserv products, Microsoft Operating Systems, MS SQL, IBM
DB2, and security programs.
Intensive fact-finding and investigation required to solve major,
complex problems. Requires extensive creativity and
resourcefulness.
