  • Oversees and leads a team of staff members focused on student professional advancement.
  • Provides guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Conducts regular team meetings, performance evaluations, and goal-setting sessions to ensure team alignment and productivity.
  • Develops and implements an innovative strategic plan for professional advancement that takes a creative and out-of-the-box approach to delivery of career services for a diverse array of online MBA adult learners and align this strategy with the overall goals of the Kelley Direct Online MBA program.
  • Designs and executes innovative career services programs, workshops, and events to support students - career development and job placement.
  • Continuously assesses and improves career services offerings based on student feedback and industry trends.
  • Works collaboratively with the office of academic advising and the office of student experience to provide a holistic approach to student support.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with faculty, administration, and other key stakeholders to integrate career development into the MBA curriculum.
  • Participates in cross-functional committees and projects to enhance the overall student experience and increase ROI for students.
  • Works collaboratively with KD office of alumni engagement to capitalize on KD alumni ambassador program and establish key alumni employer contacts and opportunities.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with employers to create job and internship opportunities for MBA students with wide variety of career advancement and career pivot goals.
  • Collaborates with the employer relations staff to organize employer information sessions, career fairs, and networking events.
  • Develops partnerships with industry leaders, alumni, and professional organizations to expand the network of opportunities for students.
  • Designs proactive, regular touchpoints for coaches and marketing plans that motivate students to recognize the value in connecting with career coaches and engaging in career advancement programing and resources. Adjust outreach for maximum levels of student engagement.
  • Provides high-level career coaching and advising to MBA students, particularly those with complex or specialized career goals.
  • Supports career coaches in delivering individual and group coaching sessions, ensuring consistency and quality of services.
  • Develops and oversees the implementation of career development plans and resources tailored to students - needs.
  • Oversees the development and management of online professional development resources, including career guides, templates, and tools.
  • Ensures that all resources are up-to-date, accessible, and effectively utilized by students.
  • Collaborates with the coordinator of professional development resources to continuously enhance the online resource library.
  • Collects, analyzes, and reports on key metrics related to career services, including job placement rates, coaching, workshop participation, engagement with on-demand content and student satisfaction.
  • Uses data to inform strategic decisions, program improvements, and resource allocation.
  • Prepares and presents regular reports to senior leadership on the effectiveness and impact of career services.
  • Develops and manages the budget for the career services office, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Monitors expenditures and ensure compliance with university financial policies and procedures.
  • Stays current with trends and best practices in career services, higher education, and industry-specific job markets.
  • Participates in professional organizations, conferences, and continuing education opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Fosters a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the career services team.
  • Leads and participates in special projects aimed at enhancing career services and student outcomes.
  • Identifies and implements new technologies and tools to improve the delivery and effectiveness of career services.
  • Encourages innovation and creativity within the team to address emerging challenges and opportunities.General Responsibilities
    • Provides highest level of operational leadership and coordination of assigned staff members to define student services methodologies and standards; provides direction and guidance on high priority student services projects/initiatives.
    • Establishes short-term business plans and long-term operational objectives, including managing project timelines/deliverables and developing resource plans for multi-project/multi-phase student services initiatives.
    • Conducts a variety of personnel actions to include, but not limited to hiring, promotion, performance management, and dismissal.
    • Manages high level assignments and allocation of student services resources, including negotiating and coordinating initiatives that involve staff in other departments/areas/teams; may coordinate large-scale student services projects with wide audiences in support of academic, wellness, inclusion, and safety initiatives.
    • Makes budgetary recommendations/proposals based on resource needs and ensures cost containment.
    • Researches and stays up-to-date on new industry student services standards, technologies, policies, and procedures; responsible for the implementation of new protocols/procedures to address business needs.
    • Works collaboratively with other student services leaders across departments in recommending standards, best practices, and related policies/procedures.
    • Prepares management reports and summaries for senior administration, executive, steering and advisory committees; acts as advisor to executive committees; serves on various university committees, communities of practice, and task forces related to student services.QualificationsCombinations of related education and experience may be considered.
