InformationThe College of Arts and Sciences is the largest academic
unit at Indiana University Bloomington. It is composed of over 40
departments, more than 50 Centers, Programs, and Institutes, while
also including the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture and Design,
the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies, and
The Media School. Faculty in the College teach over 50 percent of

here.Job SummaryThe Associate Director contributes to the strategic
direction of the College of Arts and Sciences, supporting its
mission to serve students through balancing enrollment and managing
instructional resources.Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Works with the director to build academic year and summer
instructional budgets; reviews and authorizes budget requests from
all College academic units, guided by strategic objectives and
statistical analyses.
- Analyzes and interprets enrollment and personnel data to
support the director, deans. and senior staff in the creation,
implementation, and evaluation of College-wide initiatives.
- Develops projections to guide planning efforts.
- Provides data-informed context to unit chairs, directors, and
staff to advise in planning, problem-solving, and quickly
addressing a range of issues.
- Balances course enrollment across the College, making decisions
regarding low enrolled classes, waitlists, course availability, and
balance among academic units to ensure efficient curricular
delivery and mitigate future problems.
- Develops, implements, and utilizes analytical tools, databases,
and dashboards to collect, manipulate, and maintain data for
day-to-day operations and long-term decision making.
- Creates recurring and ad hoc reports for internal and external
purposes.
- Combines expert assessment of enrollment information with deep
understanding of the nuances of individual academic units to
contribute to careful decision making.
- Uses diplomacy, discretion, and tact to communicate complex and
sensitive matters with a range of faculty and staff.
- Represents the Executive Dean's Office to academic departments
and programs, campus-wide offices, and relevant committees.General
Responsibilities
- Provides day-to-day operational management of enrollment
management staff.
- Establishes short-term operational objectives.
- Identifies operational issues and/or areas of improvement and
implements solutions to improve processes and/or operational
efficiency.
- Analyzes, monitors, and evaluates performance of course
enrollments; establishes work priorities, conducts performance
reviews, and provides corrective actions as needed.
- Ensures adequate staffing and effective scheduling;
participates and informs employment decisions for assigned
staff.
- Ensures and provides training to assigned staff to improve
enrollment management operations; researches and identifies
development opportunities for assigned staff.
- Researches and stays up-to-date on new industry enrollment
management standards, best practices, and emerging technology;
keeps next-level leader(s) informed of trends as well as
significant problems.QualificationsCombinations of related

- Bachelor's degree in business, public policy, or related
