Job Description:

A Medical Device Injection Molding Engineer job in Spencer, IN is available through Cook Medical. You will plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes for medical device products, and support Operations in a way to assure a quality product is produced in a timely manner. You will work with Operations, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs to improve existing product designs and processes to increase throughput, decrease operational costs, or improve quality. This is a hands-on position with visibility on the manufacturing floor and requires a high level of interaction with the production, product development, and quality teams. This is a direct hire opportunity.
Medical Device Injection Molding Engineer job responsibilities include:--- Provide technical support for the day-today production activities in the manufacture of custom, plastic components used in the assemblies of various medical devices .--- Work with Operations Managers and outside Vendors to create methods/machines to help with capacity of products. Work with Product Development Engineers to develop processes for new products. Work with Operations, Accounting, and Global Product Managers to increase profit margins of current products which do not meet company requirements. Work with management to establish project timeliness, project justification, and budget forecasts. Work with management to establish project timeliness, project justification, and budget forecasts.--- Apply knowledge and experience with using Scientific Molding techniques to establish processes for new and existing parts.--- Support product development activities, continuous improvement, complaint resolution, CAPA investigations and other quality initiatives. Act as resource for operational departments for materials, equipment and process upgrades.--- Equipment / process troubleshooting. Mold installation on presses.--- Document cost savings.--- Write and execute validation protocols.--- Provide support to the calibration department in writing/performing calibration procedures.--- Work with Quality Assurance and Product Development to verify/validate critical processes or products.--- Work to transfer intra-company products into operations.--- Train all relevant personnel on new processes. Must maintain all training requirements for the position, while seeking out opportunities for continuous development and growth.--- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation consistent with the requirements of pertinent regulations and Company's Quality Management System where applicable. Assure projects follow design controls established by QSPs.
QUALIFICATIONS:--- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field; or experience of such kind and amount as to provide a comparable background.--- One to three years of relevant experience minimum required in mold installation in a manufacturing setting. Scientific Molding experience is a plus.--- Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization.--- Must strictly adhere to safety requirements. Must maintain company quality and quantity standards.--- Must have effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision.--- Ability to remain calm and receptive in fast paced situations.--- Proficiency with MS Office.--- Comfortable with a 3D modeling program - Creo preferred.
