its establishment in 1941, the Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of
Art at Indiana University (IU) has grown from a small university
teaching collection into one of the foremost university art museums
in the country. A preeminent teaching museum, its internationally
acclaimed collection includes more than 45,000 objects representing
nearly every art-producing culture throughout history. Collection
areas include African art, ancient art, Asian art, global
contemporary art, European and American Art, Indigenous art,
Oceanic art, and prints, drawings, and photography. Job SummaryThe
Arts-based Wellness Experiences Manager (WXM) is responsible for
the development, implementation, and evaluation of art
therapy-informed wellness experiences anchored on the Eskenazi
Museum of Art's outstanding collection of art. Additionally, the
WXM advocates accessibility for visitors with a variety of wellness
needs.Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Plans, executes, and evaluates arts-based wellness programs for
children, youth, and adults in line with the ethical standards of
the field and the museum's strategic plan.
- Immerses participants in the creative process for
self-expression, stress-reduction, learning, and healing. Connects
looking and talking experiences in the museum -s galleries to art
making activities.
- Oversees and develops activities for the museum's Wellness
Room.
- Manages annual IU student scholarship competition in
cooperation with IU Health Hospital.
- Tracks attendance and evaluation data.
- Develops and manages wellness program budgets.
- Maintains an orderly art studio; inventories and orders art
supplies as needed.
- Advocates for visitors and potential visitors with a variety of
wellness needs.
- Fosters relationships with university services and external
organizations related to wellness.
- Keeps records on staff training for special audiences, such as
dementia care certification.General Responsibilities
- Directs and administrates health promotion marketing.
- Plans health and wellness programming in collaboration with
various department, campus, and university liaisons.
- Utilizes data to assess the needs of programming and assesses
programming outcomes.
- Contributes to committees and staff training as a subject
matter expert.QualificationsCombinations of related education and
experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required
may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the
minimum required may be substituted for education.EDUCATIONRequired
- Master's degree in art therapy or related fieldWORK
EXPERIENCERequired
- 3 years in related fieldPreferred
- Background working with children/youth and adults, preferable
in therapy settingLICENSES AND CERTIFICATESPreferred
- Uphold licensure as qualified art therapistSKILLSRequired

DemandsThis role requires the ability to effectively communicate
and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity
equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods
of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The
person in this role must be able to move up to 15 pounds, and also
have the ability to monitor programs and respond quickly to need of
clients, guests, and security. The person in this role must be able
to perform the essential functions with or without an
accommodation.Occasional evening and/or weekend work

positionAdvertised SalaryUp to $58,000 per year per year based on
