Services (CAPS), a department within the Office of Student Life and
integrated within IU's Student Health Center, is a diverse

and hiking trails. There are diverse cultural events, a broad array
of food, restaurants, and people from across the country and the
world. Job SummaryThe licensed clinician's role involves the
delivery of clinical services to IU students who are impacted by
both acute and complex sexual or relationship trauma. This can
include sexual assault, sexual abuse, dating violence, domestic
violence, sexual harassment, sexual exploitation, and stalking.
Particular attention will be paid to reaching historically excluded
and oppressed identities, to increase help-seeking behaviors and
disrupt harmful narratives.Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Conducts individual and group counseling for survivors.
- Engages the student with referrals for relevant medical, legal,
and forensic services.
- Engages in a variety of campus educational and prevention
outreach activities as well as coordinates care with the Sexual
Violence Prevention and Victim Advocacy department at IU.
- Conducts crisis appointments for students who request them
following a recent sexual assault and provides follow-up individual
and group counseling to IU Bloomington students who have been
impacted by sexual or relationship violence.
- Supplements counseling, when appropriate, with referral to
other resources in the University such as academic support, career
services, student advocates, and Accessibility Education
Services.
- Engages fully in educational and preventive outreach
activities.
- Serves on standing committees of interest or as assigned by
Director of CAPS.
- Supervises CAPS trainees who may focus on sexual and
relationship violence clinician interventions.
- Maintains accurate, timely clinical notes in accordance with
CAPS policies and procedures.
- Documents relevant consultation in the client's chart.
- Collaborates with other members of the department's
multi-disciplinary staff, including consulting with and referring
to other professionals when appropriate (e.g., psychiatrists,
medical providers, and dietitians).
- Conducts inter-educational seminars to trainees or staff, as
requested by Training Director or Director of CAPS.General
Responsibilities
- Conducts individual intake assessments.
- Provides direct clinical mental health services to individuals,
groups, and couples.
- Manages individual caseload so as to be able to incorporate new
clients in an ongoing manner.
- Maintains accurate, timely clinical notes, following Quality
Improvement committee standards.
- Adheres to relevant ethical and legal standards of HIPAA,
relevant professional bodies, and state boards.
- Consults with and refers to other professionals when
appropriate (e.g. psychiatrists, medical providers, and
dietitians).
- Utilizes evidence-based clinical interventions and, as
appropriate, documents in clinical notes.
- Serves on emergency response teams.
- Participates in active educational outreach programs.
- May supervise master's level mental health
students.QualificationsEDUCATIONRequired
- Master's degree from an accredited mental health counseling,
social work, clinical or counseling psychology, or couples and
family therapy programWORK EXPERIENCERequired
- 4 years of post-degree experienceLICENSES AND
CERTIFICATESRequired
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Indiana or
license eligible upon date of hire; OR
- Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Indiana or
license eligible upon date of hireSKILLSRequired

/ DemandsThis role requires sedentary work as well as extended
durations of moving about the workplace. It requires the ability to
move objects and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and the

position.Advertised Salary$65,000 - $71,000 per year dependent on
