Job Description PS Companies is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Evansville, Indiana. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 07/14/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days, nights - Employment Type: Travel Position: MS RN – Nights Start Date: 7/14 or 7/28 (Bi-weekly orientation) Contract Length: 13 weeks Guaranteed Hours: 36/week (will accept 48 upon request) OT Policy: OT begins after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts Shift: 12-hour days (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) or 12-hour nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) Float Requirement: - 2-hour notice for cross-campus float - Mid-shift float within same campus is rare - Cross-campus mid-shift float is unlikely Weekend/Holiday Requirement: 3 weekends out of every 6-week schedule; every other holiday Required Certifications (to be submitted with profile): - Compact RN License - AHA BLS - AHA ACLS - NIHSS Minimum Experience Required: - 3 years of strong Med/Surg - 2 completed travel assignments - Trauma Level II experience Charting Experience: - EPIC (required) - Must complete a checkoff class Patient Population: - Med/Surg - Post-surgical - UTI - Sepsis - High fall risk - COPD - CHF Required Skills: - Remote telemetry - Chest tubes - NG/PEG tubes - Straight cath/Foleys - Ostomies - Heparin drips - Blood/blood product administration - Tracheostomy care - PCA management - Strong assessment and critical thinking skills - Strong social/cultural communication - Must be resilient and manage change well Unit Information: - Unit: Med/Surg - Beds: 41 - Ratios: Days 1:4–5, Nights 1:6–7 Unit Strengths: Experienced leadership and strong CNA support/n/nScrubs: No competing health system or agency logos/n/nCall-ins: 3 or more may result in termination/n/nTeaching Facility: May involve precepting students and new hires/n/nCovid-19 Vaccine: Not required (subject to change)/n About PS Companies PS Companies is staffing firm based in West Allis, WI.
