Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Must have active RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - PCU experience required - Experience with team nursing and delegation - Ability to float to inpatient PCU unit Description: This position involves working in an acuity adaptable unit. Patients will range from medical-surgical level of care to stepdown and ICU level of care. The nurse-to-patient ratios can range from 1:4 to 1:6, depending on the type and acuity of patients. The position requires the ability to manage both stable patients and those who may become unstable. The unit can be a 4-bed unit that may expand to an 8-10 bed unit based on patient needs. Staffing may include a mix of registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, and licensed practical nurses. Good communication and teamwork skills are essential as the nurse will work alongside LPNs. Nurses may be required to handle a high volume of admissions, discharges, and patient transfers throughout the day. The position includes a rotation for weekend shifts every other week. Nurses must be adept at managing fluctuating patient care ratios in a fast-paced environment.
