high-paced environment with fluctuating patient ratios -
Comfortable floating to different patient care units as needed
Description: This position involves working in an acuity adaptable
unit. Patients range from medical-surgical to progressive care and
intensive care levels. Staffing ratios can fluctuate between 1:4
and 1:6, depending on patient acuity. Registered Nurses must be
experienced in progressive care unit settings. The unit serves
patients from the emergency department until they are discharged or
transferred. Patients are stable and will be moved if they become
unstable. The unit has the capacity for team nursing, and
Registered Nurses may work alongside licensed practical nurses.
Candidates should be comfortable delegating tasks when necessary.
This is a high-paced unit with frequent admissions, discharges, and
patient transfers. Registered Nurses may be expected to manage a
higher patient ratio during peak times. The role requires adapting
to fluctuating requirements based on patient needs and staffing
levels. Flexibility in scheduling is required, as staff will need
to work every other weekend. This position does not require on-call
