working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in
Indianapolis, Indiana, 46202! Job Title: Registered Nurse
Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day
Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required in
Telemetry, proficient Neuro experience, and management of drips.
License: Must have an active RN license in hand prior to start
date. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS. Must-Have: - Charge nurse
experience. - Ability to float to different levels of care as
needed. - Flexibility with weekend requirements. Description: This
position requires a registered nurse with experience in a
Progressive Care Unit. The nurse will be responsible for caring for
patients with various neurological conditions, including CVAs,
hydrocephalus, brain tumors and resections, seizures, and TBIs. The
unit also deals with emergency cases such as shootings, stabbings,
and motor vehicle collisions, as well as GI surgeries and large
wound cleaning and closures. The nurse will work a 3x12-hour
schedule with a patient ratio of 1:3-4, rarely seeing 5 during
emergencies. Travel nurses may also be required to precept
students. Candidates should be comfortable floating to different
levels of care, including Med-Surg, PCU, and ICU, as operational
needs dictate. Weekend work is expected to meet unit needs, with a
requirement of working 50% of the weekends in their contract.
Additional responsibilities may include charge nurse duties
depending on operational needs, for which training will be
provided. The nurse will focus on a variety of skills, including
arterial line management, blood product administration, care of
ventilated patients, central line care, interpretation of
dysrhythmias, and wound care, among others. In summary, this
