Job Description ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Evansville, Indiana. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/09/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: /n RN - Med Surg /n/n Job Details: /n • Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM /n• 36 guaranteed hours per week (48 hours available upon request) /n• Overtime begins after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts /n• Three weekends required out of every six-week schedule /n• Every other holiday rotation required /n• Float requirement: First to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh (8 miles) and potentially Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles) /n• 2-hour notice given for cross-campus float assignments /n• Mid-shift floating within same campus possible /n• Patient ratio: 1:6-7 patients during nights /n• Care for post-surgical patients including Whipples, vascular, pre/post heart caths, bariatric, ENT, podiatry procedures /n• Manage patients with dementia, altered mental status, CIWA/detox protocols, fall risks /n• Perform PIV insertion, chest tube management, CBI, stable drips (heparin, Lasix, Protonix) /n• Handle epidural management, ostomy care, blood product administration /n• Provide telemetry interpretation and wound care including packing, wound vacs, dressing changes /n• Manage pre/post heart cath patients with femoral/TR bands /n• Required experience: Two years strong Med/Surg experience, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience /n• Must have recent EPIC charting experience and complete checkoff class /n• Required certifications: Current active compact nursing license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS /n• Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos /n• May require precepting of students and new hires in teaching hospital environment /n• Must demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills /n/n Facility: /n This healthcare facility operates as a teaching hospital with a 41-bed medical surgical unit known for excellent teamwork and supportive unit culture.
