Job Description:
Overview:The primary purpose of this position is to develop and
implement methods, preparation, and workflow efficiencies to ensure
consistently high standards of food preparation and maintain cost
as well as food preparation and serving, clean up, and ordering
stock.Responsibilities:- Provide training, support, direction, and
guidance to subordinate personnel to develop their job skills-
Assure that State Health Regulations are adhered to- Take a lead
role in campus catering service- Evaluate cafeteria lunch leftovers
and plan for use; label, date, and store leftovers properly- Assist
in working a cafeteria position and rotate each job monthly- Assist
Wellness and Food Services in cafeteria event planning / wellness
communications- Take active role in Health Inspection walk-throughs
with Health department- Follow the menu plan, adjusting for
nutritionally equivalent substitutes, leftovers, and emergencies-
Perform other departmental duties as necessary- Comply with all
health and safety regulations- Perform work in compliance with Cook
Quality Policy Manual.- Must be able to comfortably speak with
employees if any disciplinary action is needed- Must maintain all
training requirements for the position, while seeking out
opportunities for continuous development and growth.- Adhere to the
Quality Management System and its processes to meet FDA 21 CFR 820,
ISO 13485, and other applicable regulatory requirements- Must work
and interact effectively and professionally with and for others
throughout various levels of the global organization.- Must
strictly adhere to safety requirements.- Maintain regular and
punctual attendance.- Must maintain company quality and quantity
standards.- Must have effective communication skills and ability to
work in a collaborative and independent work situations and
environments withminimal supervision.- Ability to remain calm and
receptive in fast paced situations.Qualifications:--- Minimum 18
years of age--- Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment (steam
pots, combi-oven, steamers, etc.) a plus--- Ability to read a
thermometer and record temperatures--- Ability to do basic math---
Ability to read and comprehend recipes and health code
regulations--- Must have ServSafe certification current--- Ability
to read/write/understand work charts and other related documents---
Minimum 2 years' experience in a Cafeteria style or steam table
environmentPhysical Requirements:--- Frequently required to stand;
walk; use hands to grasp, feel or touch; reach with hands and arms;
climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl; and
communicate--- Frequently lifts and/or moves more than 50 pounds---
Moderate exposure to noise level in the work environment that is
moderate to occasionally loud--- Occasionally required to climb a
ladder when doing heavy cleaning
