This role leads the program design and development for the region, contributes to global strategy development and program execution in collaboration with peers, and ensures programs are designed and administered fair, equitable, and in line with the organization's objectives, culture, and philosophy to support Alcoa's goal of attracting and retaining a qualified, inclusive, and diverse workforce.About the opportunity

  • Manages compensation design, analysis and administration connecting C&B initiatives to our business and talent management realities and strategies.
  • Reviews the company's compensation levels relative to market, developing and recommending changes to the compensation structure to attract and retain qualified staff, oversees job evaluation process, and/or serves as lead for conducting job evaluations and communicating results.
  • Monitors the effectiveness and compliance of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revision as well as new plans which are cost effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.
  • Responsible for the planning, design, administration and implementation of the annual compensation salary planning process.
  • Manages the external compensation survey process and survey subscriptions.
  • Keeps apprised of benefits and compensation laws and regulations in order to ensure company compliance working in a close partnership with People Services and Legal teams. Reviews and analyzes changes to the laws and manages execution of required or suggested changes, ensuring our programs adherence to the Data Privacy requirements.
  • Manages employee benefits programs such as medical, dental and pharmacy; life insurance plans and others
  • Leads the Pension Plan for the country, guaranteeing full alignment with specific legislation and company--s strategy to reduce and then eliminate financial liabilities.
  • Develops specifications for new plans or modifies existing plans to maintain company's competitive position in labor market and ensure a benefit package that is meaningful for all company locations.
  • Manages implementation of approved new plans and changes including communication materials, booklets, and other media for communicating new plans to employees.
  • Manages 3rd party partnerships with brokers, carriers and administration vendors.
  • Develops HR best practices on processes that will be utilized during all merger and/or acquisition initiatives, both domestic and international, continuously improving the deal execution and integration processes.
  • Guide HR and leadership on policy and guideline interpretation, pay decisions and job evaluations
  • Participates in and leads special projects or other duties as needed.
  • Consult with and serve as the subject matter expert with HR business partners and business leaders in developing rewards solutions
  • Partner with Talent partners to ensure talent management strategies and compensation & benefits approach are aligned to attract, develop and retain top talent--
  • Work closely with internal customers to develop and execute C&B program strategies and governance compliance, e.g., regional C&B leads, broader Total Rewards team, people service delivery teams, treasury, tax, legal, etc.
  • Maintain relationships with external consultancies, industry groups and thought leaders to promote leading compensation & benefits practices, internally and externallyAbout youTo play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:
    • Relevant compensation and benefits experience. Management and leadership experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, or related field
    • Experience from working with remuneration models, bonus schemes, pension, saving plans and insurance issues
    • Demonstrated ability to articulate and influence strategy and gain alignment with key stakeholders
    • Strong intellectual curiosity to monitor external trends and engage with industry groups and peer companies
    • Ability to think creatively to design programs and drive employee engagement
    • Strong financial acumen, project management, vendor management and organization skills
    • Good collaboration skills: ability to develop relationships, collaborate effectively on a global basis
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Proficient in MS PowerPoint and Excel
    • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
    • Excellent attention to detail
