Specific Responsibilities
- Coordinates and administers a comprehensive sports medicine
program for Water Polo and oversees cheerleading with a graduate
assistant athletic trainer.
- Performs a variety of duties involved with prevention,
assessment, and treatment of injuries and refer to team physician
and medical consultants, as necessary.
- Attends practice, training sessions, travel and provide medical
care as needed.
- Provides appropriate record keeping methods for injuries and
illness in the electronic medical record, as well as various other
operational aspects of the athletic training rooms.General
Responsibilities
- Complies fully with all NCAA, Big Ten (or other conference) and
Indiana University rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action up to and
including termination of employment. Adheres to the Code of Ethics
of the National Athletic Trainers Association and State of Indiana
Practice Act.
- Evaluates, provides treatment and rehabilitation, and documents
athletic injuries in consultation with health care professionals
and in accordance with established practices, guidelines, and
protocols.
- Refers student-athletes to various medical resources and
provides information based on injury evaluations in collaboration
with medical professionals.
- Serves as an on site physical health consultant for assigned
teams during practices, competitions, and special events to ensure
adequate treatment of injuries and appropriate response to
emergency and non-emergency situations.
- Advises, develops, and implements plans for injury and illness
prevention, emergencies, and environmental monitoring to ensure
safety of participants during practices, events and
competitions.
- Supervises and reviews the performance of students in the
undergraduate and graduate athletic training programs.
QualificationsEDUCATION/ WORK EXPERIENCERequired
- Bachelor's degree in athletic training or a related field and 2
years of experience in intercollegiate athletic training OR
- Master's degree in athletic training or a related fieldLICENSES
AND CERTIFICATESRequired
- CPR/AED upon date of hire

- BOC (Board of Certification, Inc.) upon date of

QualificationsMaster's degree in athletic training or related
field; three years of NCAA Division I experience.Working Conditions
/ DemandsThis position requires both sedentary work and long
durations of movement about the workspace. It requires the ability
to move and transport objects and equipment weighing up to 25
pounds. The person in this role must be able to perform the
