This position will work as an embedded HR professional within University Information Technology Services (UITS ) and will join an HR team of sought-out innovators for UITS, Indiana University, the Big Ten, and higher education.   • Counsels employees and management on various HR topics and functions; communicates and shares understanding of various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations.
  • Researches, responds to, and addresses various employee relation issues such as FMLA, employee complaints, workers compensation, etc.
  • Develops in-depth knowledge and skill in various HR functions, in addition to growing knowledge in HR policies, procedures, and legal requirements to provide quality HR guidance to employees and managers.
  • Develops a thorough understanding of the business strategy and culture for RC, school or department.
  • Contributes and/or manages various HR activities, projects, or initiatives, such as recruitment, onboarding, engagement, or performance management.
  • Researches and stays up-to-date on relevant HR topics.
  • Helps foster a positive culture and work environment; ensures and promotes an environment of diversity and inclusion.
  • May conduct research and analysis for local/department HR team or COE partners and develops solutions and recommends course of action.
  • May lead small projects or activities. QualificationsEDUCATION Required
    • Bachelor's degree required (degree in Human Resources preferred) WORK EXPERIENCE Preferred
      • Some experience in human resources or related experience Combinations of related education and experience may be considered LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES Preferred
        • SHRM-CP/PHR 1 Year SKILLS Required
          • Strong verbal communication and listening skills
          • Effective interpersonal skills
          • Excellent collaboration and team building skills
          • Ability to influence internal and/or external constituents
          • Proactively approaches responsibilities
          • Knowledge of Human Resources Policies
          • Exhibits understanding of Federal and State employment law Working Conditions / DemandsThis role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
