Organizational Overview:Regional Opportunity Initiatives (ROI) is a 501(c)(3) organization established to advance community and economic prosperity in the Indiana Uplands, an eleven-county region in southwest central Indiana that includes Brown, Crawford, Daviess, Dubois, Greene, Lawrence, Martin, Monroe, Orange, Owen, and Washington Counties. ROI seeks to advance regional prosperity through its education, workforce, and quality of place initiatives. Key to the organizational mission is the development of sector-based strategies to support the life sciences, national security and defense, and advanced manufacturing. Talent Development Specialist Job Summary and Responsibilities: The talent development specialist will serve as a lead for ROI's experiential learning and degree attainment strategies; including programs targeted toward K-12 students (internships, apprenticeships, student-run enterprises, and career fairs), educators (externships and professional growth opportunities), and adults (increased degree attainment programs, internship opportunities, and career fairs). This role will work closely with ROI's sector team, education team, regional K-12 and post-secondary partners, and key sector employers in the region. Example Activities:Serve as a resource to mid and small industry partners in creating and implementing internship and apprenticeship programming.Convene K-12 work-based learning directors from across the Uplands region to identify work and learn best-practices and regional benchmarks.Design, cultivate, and launch innovative strategies to support increased adult education attainment rates across the region.Develop region-wide strategies for apprenticeship programming.Serve as a convener and resource for the emerging student-run enterprise network in the Uplands region.Identify, pursue, and manage relevant funding opportunities.Support ROI's career awareness strategies, including professional development and the creation of relevant tools and resources.Collect and manage data related to ROI's talent development goals.
