DepartmentUNIVERSITY STUDENT SERVICES & (UA-SES-IUBLA)Department InformationUniversity Student Services and Systems (USSS), a division of University Academic Affairs, supports the academic and student services missions of Indiana University by coordinating and managing university-wide operations in admissions, financial aid, student records, student demographics, access administration, and veteran's affairs. USSS also performs university-wide operations in the areas of information security, data administration, operational support, reporting, internal controls, academic policy implementation, and compliance. USSS leads Student Shared Services to enhance customer service, implement best practices, and reduce operating costs in campus and university offices in the areas of admissions, financial aid, student records, veteran's services, access administration. Job Summary

  • Provides analysis and programming related to the design, development, and support of systems.
  • Consults with stakeholder(s) and senior peers to define system requirements, problems, and proposals; conducts studies and assists in presenting detailed requirements/designs to stakeholder(s).
  • Documents systems analysis and programming efforts (changes, new functionality, issue/problem resolution); performs system unit and integration testing.
  • Researches and stays up-to-date with new standards, tools, and emerging technology and services.
  • Ensures that all protocols used in the design and programming of systems are up to date and compliant with university policies and standards. QualificationsEDUCATIONRequired
    • Bachelor's degree (preferably in computer science or a related field).WORK EXPERIENCERequired
      • Some systems programming/analysis experience.Preferred
        • Work experience in student financial aid or another higher education enrollment management function (i.e. admissions, student records, billing, advising).Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.SKILLSRequired
          • Proficient communication skills.
          • Maintains a high degree of professionalism.
          • Demonstrated time management and priority setting skills.
          • Demonstrates a high commitment to quality.
          • Possesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
          • Seeks to acquire knowledge in area of specialty.Preferred
            • Proficiency coding in Perl programming language.Working Conditions / DemandsThis role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
