Overview Lilly recently announced a $4.5 billion investment to
create the Lilly Medicine Foundry, a new center for advanced
manufacturing and drug development. The first-ever facility of its
kind, combining research and manufacturing in a single location,
the Medicine Foundry will allow Lilly to further develop innovative
solutions to optimize manufacturing processes and increase capacity
for clinical trial medicines, while also reducing costs and
environmental impact. Position Description: The Associate
Director-Warehouse Operations will be engaged in the delivery of
detailed design, creation of standard operating processes, material
handling and automated storage equipment commissioning and
qualification activities and ultimately be responsible for hiring a
team of people to operate the warehouse. This important role will
also provide technical and operational leadership to the logistics
and supply chain team. This role will have overall responsibility
for the receipt, storage, transfer, shipment, and control of all
materials and/or supplies supporting the Lilly Medicine Foundry.
Key Objectives/Deliverables: Support site start-up and provide
subject matter expertise in warehouse operations. Hire warehouse
staff according to the hiring plan provided Provide training,
support, and development for all staff within the warehouse
organization. Provide leadership to the work group / team to attain
departmental and site objectives for safety, quality, delivery,
cost, and people Ensure the warehouse team is aligned and driven to
meet operational goals including supporting equipment and data
(electronic warehouse management), deviation and change management,
variability reduction, and equipment/system reliability Responsible
for maintaining a safe work environment, working safely and
accountable for supporting all HSE (Health Safety and Environment)
corporate and site goals Ensure robust inventory management process
is developed and maintained Ensures that all warehouse activities
are conducted with applicable regulations and/or policies
Participate in the development and deployment of strategies
associated with continuous improvement, corrective and preventative
actions, 6 sigma, and lean methodologies Partner with logistics
engineering to map and streamline logistics operations Create,
deploy, and comply with GMP procedures; understand GMP regulations
and provide expertise in warehouse and logistics operation This
role functions as the primary interface with site operations,
planning, HR, Tech Services, QC, Engineering and Health, Safety and
Environment Support and author warehouse and logistics
deviations/change controls/SOPs, as necessary Meet appropriate
goals for performance improvements as defined by area leadership
Follow and execute policies and procedures impacting warehouse
activities. Responsible for acting on behalf of the warehouse team
to integrate with site management to gain an understanding of site
operations as well as to respond to potential issues and identify
improvement opportunities that arise Develops annual warehouse
budget and monitors spending on a regular basis Manages the
development, maintenance, and distribution of required warehouse
related reports Escalate issues to appropriate management level
when necessary, following appropriate notification to management
process Requirements (Education, Experience, Training): Bachelor’s
degree Minimum of 7 years of previous warehouse/logistics or
related operational experience, including supervisory experience

Preferences: Supervisory Experience: L eads and motivates teams in

expertise in supply chain management and materials handling.
SAP/Electronic Warehouse Management (EWM) experience. cGMP
experience : prior experience and solid understanding of working in

on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic
location. The anticipated wage for this position is $122,250 -
$179,300 Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a
company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual
