Provide 24-hour support for network and server environment in which computer-based equipment is involved in pharmaceutical manufacturing. Administration of Windows 2019, 2016, 2012, 2008, 2003, 2000, and NT servers, Cisco network support, SAN storage, backup and recovery, Citrix and VMWare. Responsible for system monitoring, patching, and troubleshooting. Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Labs, and Packaging personnel to install, configure, and maintain their systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in design, development, implementation of solutions involving multiple platforms and multi-tiered architectures systems in response to business requirements
  • Manage and deploy security and patching of all business and production systems
  • Install, configure, test, document, and maintain equipment, including computer software and hardware, scan guns and label printers
  • Provide routine support on software and hardware at both end user and server levels
  • Use fact-based metrics to continuously improve on quality/efficiency of solutions, ensuring business-value delivery
  • Follow QA standards to deliver stable, reliable, and highly available solutions
  • Assess existing platforms and architectures and make recommendations to keep technologies functional and current
  • Manage physical data center, including both Windows virtual and physical servers
  • Oversee backup and restore requirements and activities
  • Support wireless access point setup, testing and administration

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to work on-call 24x7 as part of a weekly rotation
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant technical experience
  • Technical certifications preferred from Cisco, Citrix, Microsoft and VMWare
  • Experience in creating standard operating procedure documentation, knowledge-base, and other instructional documentation as necessary
  • Familiarity installing and supporting Windows OS, including Server 2019 and VMWare vSphere 6.0 and higher
  • Knowledge of Citrix administration, server builds and maintenance
  • Experience with data center management, maintenance and best practices
  • Understanding of DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP network protocols and wireless communications
  • Experience maintaining, troubleshooting and supporting enterprise applications, network infrastructure
  • Track record of success with IT projects, implementations, upgrades and regular support activities
  • Ability to simultaneously support multiple, cross-functional IT projects
  • Willingness to work with legacy computer hardware and ability to improvise to keep systems running when needed
  • Strong project-management and communication skills to work with various stakeholders and vendors
  • Knowledge of incident, problem and change management policies/procedures within staff and organization
  • Exceptional customer-service focus with an emphasis on a service-based approach
  • Familiarity with basic firewall principles
  • Experience with Level 2 and 3 end-user support leveraging a ticket-based system
  • Comfort level evaluating, selecting, adopting and managing new technologies and related infrastructures
  • Familiarity with SAN and data storage

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Windows clustering a plus
  • Programming/Scripting experience a plus
  • Experience with SCADA systems a plus
  • Experience in maintaining quality documentation required in a 21 CFR Part 11 compliant environment a plus

Physical/Safety Requirements:

  • Frequently required to sit, stand and use hands to perform data entry
  • Occasionally required to perform simple grasping, use hands for fine manipulation, and to reach above shoulder level and under desks
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. or more
