DepartmentIND INST ON DISABILITY/COMMNTY (BL-IIDC-IUBLA)Department InformationThe Indiana Institute on Disability and Community (IIDC) is one of only 67 University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. The Institute conducts research and training through seven Centers: Early Childhood Center, Center on Education and Lifelong Learning, Center on Community Living and Careers, Center for Health Equity, Indiana Resource Center for Autism, Center for Collaborative Systems Change, and the Eppley Institute on Parks and Public Lands. The Eppley Institute is Indiana University's unique outreach program for the park, recreation, and public land management professions and works to enhance the quality of natural, cultural, and recreational experiences for all people. The Institute provides expertise in several areas, including technical assistance and research, planning and design, and training and education for the National Park Service, state parks, municipal governments, and other similar organizations around the world. Job SummaryThis position provides leadership and assistance in training design, content development and implementation for Eppley in the delivery of park, recreation, accessibility, and public land related services. The Eppley Institute for Parks and Public Lands learning platform, proValens has over 12,000 annual learners from the nation, and various partner organizations in online courses, online certificates, and webinars. In person training is also provided for the partner organizations. Eppley provides training, and technical assistance in parks, recreation, and public lands management (proValens Learning), playground maintenance (Playground Maintenance Technician), accessibility (National Center on Accessibility), international parks management (World Parks Academy), regional focus (Great Lakes Park Training Institute), and others. Analyzes learning needs to determine effective learning solutions that address knowledge and/or performance gaps. Designs learning experiences through engaging activities and practice using appropriate models for instructional design (e.g. ADDIE, etc.) develop learning for continuing professional development across learning modalities. Collaborates with learning team members to write learning objectives and develop knowledge assessments. Lead and participate in project-based teams providing training. Develops participant and trainer materials using a variety of presentation, word processing and image capturing software. Consults and serves as the key connection point between the learning team and business partners during the learning solution analysis, design, and development. Supports the delivery of the pilot session and completes required revisions. Coordinates project deadlines to include project schedules and shared staffing resources that allow for collaboration with subject matter experts, policy makers, community leaders while leading and facilitating work groups and work group processes. Contributes to a positive team environment at the Institute with a diverse group of employees, graduate students, contractors, and partners. QualificationsEDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCERequiredMaster's degree in an instructional design related discipline with experience in creating online courses. Experience in managing multiple projects in the development of online, hybrid, and classroom learning, including design/development of individual modules; content in existence.SKILLSExcellent writing and communication skills.
