Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities Provides customer service
which extends to all units within the Department of Chemistry and
various colleagues therein, applicants and candidates, and Indiana
University Human Resources (IUHR).
Participates in department activities, workflows, process mapping
and creation, logistics and support amidst personal individual
contributor duties.
Interfaces with the College of Arts + Sciences Human Resources
within the Executive Dean's Office (ARSD) and builds relationships
with the dozens of partners across campus (IE: IUHR, Payroll,
Dean's Office), administrative service areas, and employees.
Acts as a first responder to the Chemistry HR shared email inbox
and triages requests to the appropriate team member.
Participates in the life cycle of onboarding and off-boarding
processes, which includes preparing offer materials and providing
administrative coordination to the HR Business Partner (HRBP)
during employee welcome sessions.
Facilitates report generation in the IU information environment and
extends reports to team members as needed (i.e., maintaining the
open position list, temporary pay reports, headcount reports,
compensation analysis sheets, etc.)
Leads eDoc processes for the department at large, supporting both
the team and the units who rely on Chemistry HR for assistance.
Acts as the primary point person for HR Case Management responses
and Background Check workflow for those handled within the
department.
Assists the Chemistry HRBP with FMLA and PPL document maintenance
including but not limited to leave forms, eDocs, and notifications
to payroll.
At the direction of the Chemistry HRBP, supports team members with
special projects.
General Responsibilities Coordinates, processes, verifies, and
maintains HR related work, which may include but not limited to:
recruitment, training, benefits, classifications, I-9s, employee
leaves of absences, and summer salary.
Researches and analyzes HR related topics to help assist in
resolving issues and/or creating solutions.
Creates, compiles, prepares, and analyzes reports and documents for
HR related activities.
Performs and may coordinate data entry for processing transactions
and maintaining and keeping information current for candidates,
employees and/or retirees on a variety of HR issues
Provides administrative and related support to other HR staff.
Supports and maintains HR programs and events; maintains up-to-date
records of actions, decisions, and time frames.
Maintains high standards of confidentiality of all employee records
and documents.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
High school diploma or GED
Preferred
Associate's degree
Bachelor's degree
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
3 years HR related experience plus advanced experience with
Microsoft Office Suite products
Combinations of related education and experience may be
considered

pressure. Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and organizational
skills
Experience utilizing HRIS systems
Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to
operate a computer and other standard office productivity
equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods
of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The
person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions
with or without an accommodation.

$19.23 - $20.19 per hour
