(WTS) delivers over 7,000 tutorials per year in our main location
in the Wells Library Learning Commons, in three Academic Support
Centers, in several culture centers across campus, and through
virtual appointments. WTS serves both undergraduate and graduate
students in all University disciplines, and we recruit a diverse
group of tutors who represent this disciplinary breadth. WTS
further supports graduate students through a dozen writing groups
offered each semester and during the summer. WTS is located within
Indiana University Bloomington's Campus Writing Program (CWP),
which promotes writing as a tool to improve learning and teaching
across the disciplines. Campus Writing Program is a unit within the
Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (OVPUE) at

Job SummaryDepartment-Specific Responsibilities
- Responsible for the daily operation of WTS.
- Responsible for the WC Online scheduling system and for the
hourly clerical desk staff, including training, supervision, and
assignment of work.
- Oversees appointment making and record keeping related to
student tutorials.
- Coordinates and oversees day-to-day programming and scheduled
events.
- Processes payroll documents in support of the OVPUE business
office.
- Acts as a liaison between other Learning Commons staff,
students, and WTS tutors.
- Other duties as assigned. General Responsibilities
- Assists with administrative needs related to the daily
operations, planning, and implementation of student programs.
Performs duties such as attending a front desk, answering phones
and email, and delivering messages and mail.
- Serves as a liaison to campus partners for cross-departmental
student programming, providing information, securing space
reservations, scheduling planning meetings, and providing necessary
documentation.
- Provides assistance to program participants, stakeholders,
faculty, and/or staff; acts as a resource by analyzing information,
providing documentation, and preparing reports.
- Greets students and/or program participants; may assist with
program check-in and check-out. Provides directions, support, and
information to program participants.
- Assists with daily scheduling, training, and gathering program
feedback. May prepare and disseminate handouts, presentations, or
other program materials.
- May assist with ordering or creation of promotional materials
to encourage student participation.
- May provide guidance to other Student Programming Coordinators.
