audiences. All Student Life Marketing staff will contribute to the
creation, implementation, and assessment of various marketing and
communications initiatives.Job SummaryThe majority of the videos
created by the Summer Multimedia Videographer are shot and edited
vertically for Instagram Reels. The Multimedia Videographer is
someone with a creative eye, who in this position will cover
everything from major university events to departmental functions
and marketing campaign shoots. In addition to social media
videos/Reels, additional video projects may include short-form
documentaries and tours. Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Creates videos for the Indiana Memorial Union, Student Health
Center, IU Housing, and many more departments within the Office of
Student Life.
- Creates professional-quality vertical videos including, but not
limited to, shooting, editing, sound (recording and music),
graphics, effects, and storytelling.
- Works closely with various members of the marketing team and
professional staff/clients from around the Office of Student
Life.
- Participates in various meetings, workshops, critiques, and
brainstorming sessions as necessary.
- Brainstorms, storyboards, shoots, edits, and creatively
enhances videos into professional commercials, presentations, or
other formats through the collaboration with the marketing team
and/or clients.
- Creates videos in both vertical and horizontal formats based on
audience and platform.
- Uses creativity and problem-solving to create effective videos
based on the needs of marketing initiatives.
- Captures video primarily on DSLR cameras but may use a
smartphone for some social media videos.
- Edits video footage in Adobe Premiere and enhances graphics in
Adobe After Effects.
- Maintains office hours.
- Stays informed and up-to-date on current trends, techniques,
and technologies in video creation.QualificationsEDUCATIONRequired
- Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana UniversityWORK
EXPERIENCERequired
- A solid understanding of DSLR cameras, lighting, and gathering
audio
- Experience editing videos with Adobe Premiere
- Experience editing photos with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom
Preferred
- Experience with video, video editing, and digital image
editing
- 1 year of experience filming events in all shooting
environments
- Experience creating interactive graphics with Adobe After
Effects
- Experience shooting and editing still photographySKILLSRequired

/ DemandsThis role requires the ability to effectively communicate
and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity
equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods
of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The
person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions
