Department InformationThe Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology
cares for the collections of the former Glenn Black Laboratory of
Archaeology and the Mathers Museum of World Cultures. The diverse

Bloomington's campus.Job SummaryThe Indiana University Museum of
Archaeology and Anthropology is seeking a creative and motivated
person to join our team as Communications Assistant. This position
will work with the Development and External Communications team to
support the Museum's engagement with the public, promote the Museum
and its activities, and enhance the Museum's digital presence
through social media.Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Assists in the creation of social media content tailored to key
audiences and stakeholders.
- Implements social media production and posting schedule.
- Monitors social media analytics and performance.
- Captures photography, video, and audio for website and social
media content.
- Designs graphics and layouts for a variety of print and digital
platforms.
- Other responsibilities as
assigned.QualificationsEDUCATIONRequired
- Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana UniversityPreferred
- Currently enrolled in coursework related to Marketing, Graphic
Design, or other relevant field.SKILLSRequired
- Experience creating designs for print or digital media using
Adobe Creative Cloud or equivalent design software
- Understanding of effective design principles and best
practices
- Commitment to producing quality work and to continuous
improvement
- High degree of flexibility and problem-solving initiative
- Strong sense of curiosity and creativityPreferred
- Experience creating compelling social media content to promote
a business, brand, or organization
- Experience capturing and editing audiovisual contentWorking
Conditions / DemandsThis role requires the ability to effectively
communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office
productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as
well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the

position.Advertised Salary$16.50 per hourWork HoursMonday - Friday,
10 - 15 hours per week.This position is capped at 29 hours per
