Job Description:

Primarily responsible for enterprise project planning and implementation, including both regularly scheduled (e.g. Life Cycle Replacement) and unscheduled events (e.g. enterprise software migration, and specialty lab setups). This includes developing supporting tools and creating support structure documentation.Additionally, responsible for complete data migration from the customers? current platform to the new platform; and works closely with Security & Policy Team, Technical Services Team and Enterprise Architecture and Support Systems Team in the development of tools and procedures to aid in customer migration to new hardware platforms. Recruits, selects and supervises temporary/part-time staff which includes directing daily tasks, appraising work and providing guidance and training, and adjusting work schedule as needed.Responsible for the delivery, installation, customization, asset tracking and support of all computing devices for departments and units in the College of Arts + Sciences, including the School of Art, Architecture + Design, the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies, the Media School, and over 20 units for the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Multicultural Affairs (OVPDEMA). Helps maintain, improve and update asset tracking mechanisms and procedures. Serves as an integral member of the unit?s Client Support Services Team (CSST) and as the primary contact for computing support, analysis, and advice for the faculty and staff of the College of Arts + Sciences and units reporting to DEMA. Recommends and approves faculty hardware and software purchases in accordance with UITS Software Services and Selection Process (SSSP) that are to be utilized by the unit and supported by CITO.Under minimal supervision, provides on-site consultation and support for computer systems, software (including virtual applications) and peripherals and participates in project planning and implementation for an enterprise model of computer support and asset tracking. Coordinates, designs, implements, analyzes and troubleshoots instructional and research based highly specialized lab computer systems. Works as part of a team and acts as a liaison between customers and Tier-2 resources (i.e. security, systems administration, and hardware and deployment technologies) within CITO and elsewhere in the IU IT community.Serves as a member of CITO?s Enterprise Disaster Response and IT Incident teams as part of a master business continuity plan. The membership roles are extremely sensitive and require professional status. REQUIRED: Associate?s degree in computer science or closely related field and two years of systems administration or network support experience. Front-line, tier-1 Apple and Windows computer support experience, as well as project management and asset tracking experience.Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.Possess a valid driver?s license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including a customer service orientation and ability to interact with a wide variety of individuals within a diverse environment and ability to exchange information through a variety of means. Strong organization and multitasking skills, including ability to handle time sensitive and often high stress situations with diplomacy and grace. Project management skills with proven experience in project resource estimating and scheduled delivery.Demonstrated knowledge and technical skill in the following: operating system architecture and configurations (Windows, *NIX and Mac OS X); business software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook); CAD and 3D design software such as AutoDesk (AutoCAD, Revit Architecture, 3DS Max); ); Adobe Creative Desktop Applications (Acrobat, Dreamweaver, InDesign and Illustrator); computer hardware architecture and configurations (Apple and PC); and computer peripheral architectures and configurations (printers, scanners, cameras, I/O devices, other). Possess experience in front-line, Tier-1 Apple and Windows computer support experience, as well as asset tracking experience. Preferred Qualifications? Bachelor?s degree. Four years of related experience. Related IT certifications (CompTIA?s A+, CompTIA?s Network+ , CompTIA?s Project+, Microsoft MCP). Working Conditions / Physical Demands? Employee must be able to lift 30 pounds unaided. Be able to work from various physical angles such as kneeling and crouched positions to access devices and wiring. Position may work from various locations throughout the ?field? (e.g. Ballantine Hall, Owen Hall, and others) Salary Range? $38,356 - $40,789
