Job Description: The logistics specialist position analyzes and coordinates the logistical functions for supplies to and from destination events and conferences. This role has the responsibilities of organization, scheduling and confirmation of supply shipments. This job operates in a warehouse environment with no supervisory responsibilities. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position has an independent work flow. Required Experience: Summary of Essential Job Functions Receive all material, product supplies and electronics. Verify shipments against purchase orders and examine upon arrival. Maintain record keeping systems and mark material with part numbers, date and lot codes, revisions, etc. Adapt shipping and receiving schedules as demands and work flow changes occur. Enters, updates, and verifies data into various systems for use by all personnel. Competencies Thoroughness. Time Management. Customer/Client Focus. Required Education and Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
