This is a unique opportunity for a Sales Manager to join the industry-leader and become part of an exciting future. This role will oversee the daily operations of the sales team and account management across our Bloomington Headquarters and remote staff. This role is located at our Corporate Headquarters, in Bloomington, Indiana.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Create and nurture a positive culture that is both competitive and collaborative, and a fun work environment that rewards positive employee attitude and morale
    • Plan and direct all activities of your sales team to achieve top-line revenue objectives
    • Drive continuous improvement in sales capacity and sales conversion rates
    • Encourage out-of-the box thinking while creating and implementing new ways of building value in Author Solutions services
    • Continuously enhance the value of Author Solutions products and services in the view of customers, using a pro-active, process-driven, metrically-evaluated approach
    • Achieve and exceed sales expectations and ensure profitability
    • Create strategic action plans, present and formulate solutions
    • Forecasting and reporting on sales targets and performance
    • Ability to create budgets, sales and activity reports and other performance data to ensure productivity and goal achievement of sales goals and strategic objectives
    • Involvement in the hiring, on boarding, promotion, training, and discipline of assigned staff, with the goal of continuous improvement.
    • Consistent meetings with sales team to recap results, provide recommendations on issues, and further build sales staff.
    • Create strong incentives to motivate staff and increase sales
    • Assist Sales Consultants with customer complaints and refund requests when necessary
    • Work with other Departments to ensure inter-department cooperation and teamwork
    • Track sales and provide executive management and peer group with timely information regarding sales performance, key issues, and trends.
    • Assists Marketing in generating new product ideas, gap analysis, pricing, developing customer-driven product ideas, and ideas for increasing leads.
    • May render occasional functional guidance to employees in Customer Service, Production, Book Sales, Promotions and Finance Departments with respect to sales policies and practice.
    • Possess a good understanding of the competitive environment, including their strengths and weaknesses

      Qualified candidates possess the following skills:

      • High School diploma or equivalent required.
      • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
      • 5+ years of direct sales management experience, preferably in a consultative, B2C environment with a proven track record of success.
      • Experience managing a remote workforce preferred.
      • Proven leadership ability, excellent customer service, sales and communication skills.
      • Ability to recruit, interview, coach, mentor and train sales staff.
      • Ability to develop new and effective methods of increasing sales.
      • Ability to appropriately handle employee relations and performance issues.
      • Ability to interact and collaborate effectively with others in a team atmosphere.
      • Must be well organized and have strong time management skills.
      • Must be a creative problem-solver to tackle daily business challenges.
