Waste Management, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Environmental Field Chemist to join our thriving team, leveraging expertise in chemistry to ensure the safe management and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, adhering to environmental health and safety protocols. This position plays a crucial role in promoting our commitment to sustainability and compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within various settings, including fieldwork and laboratory analysis, contributing directly to our mission of leading the industry in sustainable waste management and renewable energy solutions. Conduct chemical analysis of waste samples to categorize and determine appropriate disposal methods. Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of all activities, findings, and analytical data. Implement and oversee the handling, packaging, and shipment of hazardous materials in compliance with regulations. Provide on-site support and expertise during environmental projects, including waste collection events and emergency response situations. Train team members on chemical safety, proper handling procedures, and compliance with environmental laws. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and improve waste management processes and strategies.
